REVERSE DRAW JANUARY 15TH 2011

Please remember to return all SOLD and UNSOLD reverse draw tickets to the parent representative at your studio as soon as possible.

Tickets will be available for purchase January 15th during the morning events.  We will begin the reverse draw at the start of the afternoon dancing and winners will be announced with the afternoon results.

The reverse draw and 50/50 are really the only fundraising efforts that we undertake.  FVHDA is a non-profit organization run by volunteers and we rely on this fundraiser to fill the gap between the funds collect in registration fees and our operating expenses for the year.

FVHDA has applied for government grants for the past two years but we have been turned down both times. It is essential that we all make and effort to sell these tickets for the benefit of the association as a whole.

FUNDRAISING INFORMATION

The FVHDA will host a reverse draw at the January 15th, 2011 Closed Competition.

Each dancer will be asked to sell 3 tickets at a cost of $10.00.  Tickets will be distributed to dancers through parent representatives at each studio.  Tickets stubs must be returned mid-December to the FVHDA.  Proceeds from the draw will be used by the FVHDA to purchase medals and awards as well as to help with the cost of facilities rentals.

Welcome Back to Highland!

BC Highland Dancing Association is hosting it’s second annual Welcome Back to Highland event with a full agenda of highland and halloween fun.  This event takes place Saturday October 30th at the Scottish Cultural Centre.  Workshop with Joy Tolev.

2010 Cowal Results

Congratulations to Fiona Lee who was 5th runner up in the Adult World Championships.  Congratulation also to Breanna Watt who qualified for the Junior World Championships.

Scotdance Canada 2010 Championship News!

Congratulations to all FVHDA dancers who represented BC at the interprovincial Championships in Saskatoon this summer.

Savannah finished 2nd runner up in the Premier 14 and under 16 year class at the United States Inter-Regional Championship held in Traverse City, Michigan.
