Volunteer Jobs

FVHDA is a volunteer organization that requires the help of each and every member. Every membership has a responsibility to fulfill the volunteer commitments regardless of the age or level of the dancers. If you have two or more dancers, you will probably be asked to volunteer twice but not anymore. Volunteers can be anyone 16 years of age or older. This can be a dancer or a dancer's friend, parent or sibling. You are responsible for locating your own replacement if unable to complete your assigned shift (and to advise the volunteer co-coordinator of same).

Membership will not be accepted without the completed volunteer form returned. If you have a job preference and/or competition date that you would like to volunteer for, please indicate when you submit your forms. The volunteer co-coordinator will do everything possible to slot you into your chosen date/time/task but no guarantee of same can be made. If you have any experience with line-up or with scoring or would like to learn how, please indicate on volunteer form.

A $75.00 cheque in lieu of volunteering made out to FVHDA will be accepted.

Door Take admission fee and sell programs.
Numbers Distribute competitor numbers. Complete temporary cards and forms.
Concession Sell food and beverages.
Line Up Arrange dancers in correct order and assist them to platform.
Platform Signs Change the Platform Signs with each dance.
Medals Distribute medals and stamp pre-premier cards.
50/50 Sell tickets and count money for drawing.
Runner Take the judges scoring sheets after the end of each set to the scoring area.
Scoring Enter judge's scores into the Scrutineer scoring computer program
Morning Setup/Competition Cleanup Setting up and taking down tables, cleaning, etc.
