About the FVHDA

The FVHDA was established in 1945 with the goal of promoting and fostering highland dancing and piping in the Fraser Valley.  We were officially granted status as the Fraser Valley Branch of BCHDA October 3rd 1946. The FVHDA is has been incorporated since 1976.

The boundaries for membership with the FVHDA are open.  We have dancers from not only the lower mainland but also Vancouver Island and the Interior BC.

The FVHDA is a strong association with between 150 and 170 registered dancers in an average season.  We are proud to host 3 Closed Competitions each season (November, January and February).  For the past 4 years we have also run an Open Competition with a Championship and Pre-Championship in April.

Many FVHDA dancers will represent the province of BC at the Canadian Interprovincial Competition, and Washington State at the USIR Competition each year.
