Academic Scholarship
The FVHDA offers an academic scholarship to dancers who have devoted years of their lives to highland dancing. The maximum value awarded for a scholarship is $500.00. The number of scholarships and the value of each vary on an annual basis depending on the number of qualified applicants and the financial resources of the FVHDA.
To be eligible for a scholarship, dancers must be a current member of the FVHDA in good standing and a high school graduate preparing to enrol in their first year of post-secondary education. Dancers must have danced in FVHDA closed competitions for the last 3 consecutive years. Exceptions will be made for dancers who have recently moved to the area and joined the FVHDA, providing they were registered with their previous local highland dancing association.
