Programs

A limited number of printed programs will be available at the door for $2/ea. Alternatively, program information is available via the ScotDance app for your mobile device that can be downloaded for free from the App Store for Apple devices or from Google Play for Android devices.

Category Changes

If your dancer has changed categories (ex. Beginner, Novice, etc.) since you submitted their entry, please notify the Competition Secretary if you haven’t already done so.

Is your Pre-Premier dancer also competing at the Santa’s Fling competition on Nov 30th and could possibly change categories for it depending on their results at the FVHDA competition? If so, you will need the FVHDA to issue you a temporary RSOBHD card. If this is a possibility, please email competitions@fvhda.org in advance so that we can be prepared to provide you with a temporary card after awards if required.

Dancer Check-In

Competitors can pick up their numbers from the designated table upon arrival. A valid RSOBHD dancer registration card must be presented before their number will be released to them. A $10 non-refundable fee (cash only) will be collected from a dancer who is not able to produce a valid RSOBHD card. Any prizes won may be withheld until a valid card is presented.

Change Rooms

Both female and male change rooms will be available to dancers in the rooms located in the hallway off the entry/lobby area and will be identified with signs. A universal/family-friendly/gender-neutral change space is also available in the Mary Pratt Gallery. Please note that dancers must be dressed appropriately at all times in the Gallery. Washrooms are available near the Gallery so that dancers may change costume undergarments in privacy. To access the Gallery, walk past the female and male change rooms and take the hallway on the right.

Warm-Up Rooms

The following spaces can be used for warming up:

  • Line-up room
  • Corridor (dancers may bring their own foam matting for personal use)
  • Dance classrooms (available to Premier dancers only as of 11am; street shoes are strictly prohibited in these rooms as they will damage the floors)

Etiquette for Theatre Entry and Exit

Please enter and exit the theatre from the top of the stairs. The lower doors are reserved to those requiring an accessible entry/exit. To minimize noise and disruption, enter and exit the theatre between dances only (that is, as dancers are entering or exiting the stage).

Platform Schedule

Morning dancing will begin at 9am starting with the Primary dancers. Afternoon dancing will not begin before 12:30pm for the Premier dancers. Links to the platforms schedules are available below.

Change Break

For Beginner Dancers

Beginner dancers performing the Lilt should change into their national outfit immediately following the Special Fling. The Lilt will begin as soon as the Novice and Intermediate dancers have finished the Flora. The Flora is expected to run approximately 7 to 9 minutes so Beginner dancers are asked to keep this in mind to ensure they report back to the line-up room for the Lilt in a timely manner. Please refer to the morning platform schedule for the sequence of dance events.

For Novice and Intermediate Dancers

Novice and Intermediate dancers will change into their national outfit immediately following the Seann Triubhas. The Flora will be first, followed by the Lilt. The Flora will begin as soon as the Beginner dancers have finished the Special Fling. The Special Fling is expected to run approximately 5 minutes so Novice and Intermediate dancers are asked to keep this in mind to ensure they report back to the line-up room for the Flora in a timely manner. Please refer to the morning platform schedule for the sequence of dance events.

Concession

A concession service will not be available at this competition. There will be tables setup in the entry/lobby area for those who would like to bring their own food and drinks. Please note that only water is allowed in the theatre.
