If you indicated on your forms you are “New To Highland”, and received our Welcome PDF, volunteers to give you a tour of the venue will be stationed at the numbers table. Please be patient should all these volunteers be busy with other families when you arrive.
Concession: There will be a concession in the lobby offering drinks, lunch items, and snacks. Donations for sale gratefully accepted.
Parking: Please park in the main parking lot, accessed from Nash Street (not Trattle). The spaces immediately in front of the theatre are reserved for handicapped parking, as well as our judges and pipers. Do not park on the side of the theatre where the garbage dumpsters are. If we block the dumpsters we are charged a fee.
Change rooms: There should not be any garment bags etc. in the cafeteria area. There are both female and male change rooms for all dancers. Dancers and parents must use the change rooms provided as marked. If you require a family change room space, please let us know and space will be provided for you.
Costumes: There may be a limited Used Costume Sale Table at this competition, as one of our long standing Fraser Valley teachers, who is retiring from teaching, has items she wishes to sell. Unfortunately there is NOT the space for individuals to bring items for sale at this time.
Volunteers: Our Volunteer Coordinator, Lorna, (grant.fvhda@gmail.com) will have been in touch already should you be scheduled for a shift at this competition. If you have any questions regarding volunteering please direct them to Lorna.
Schedule: Morning dancing will begin at 9:00 AM with PRIMARY dancers. This will be followed by the INTERMEDIATE dancers, then BEGINNER and NOVICE. The Primary dances do not take very long, so it is recommended all morning dancers are ready to dance for 9.00am.
Afternoon dancing will not start before 12:30 PM with PREMIER dancers. Please see attached for Platform Schedule information.
Premier dancers please note: If you would prefer to be awarded medals (instead of money) please make it known to an Executive member after awards are handed out. We will arrange for your envelopes to be exchanged for medals.
Finally, if there are any category changes (Beginners to Novice, Novice to Intermediate, Intermediate to Premier), or dancers who will not be attending due to injury or illness, please advise me as soon as possible as classes have been finalized.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!
