Doors will open at 8am for admission of morning competitors. Admission is $5/person (cash only please) for persons 12 and over. Competitors do not pay admission.
A limited number of printed programs will be available at the door for $2/ea. Alternatively, program information is available via the ScotDance app for your mobile device that can be downloaded for free from the App Store for Apple devices or from Google Play for Android devices.
If your dancer has changed competition categories (ex. Beginner, Novice, Intermediate) since the November competition, please notify the Competition Secretary as soon as possible via email if you haven’t already: firstname.lastname@example.org
Competitors can pick up their number from the designated table upon arrival. A valid RSOBHD dancer registration card must be presented before their number will be released to them. A $10 non-refundable fee (cash only) will be collected from a dancer who is not able to produce a valid RSOBHD card. Any prizes won may be withheld until a valid card can be presented.
Both female and male change rooms will be available to dancers in the rooms located along the corridor off the entry/lobby area and will be identified with signs. Should you prefer a universal change room or a family change room, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing email@example.com so that we may organize a space for you.
The following spaces can be used for warming up:
- Line-up room
- Corridor (dancers may bring their own foam matting for personal use)
- Dance classrooms (available to Premier dancers only as of 11am; street shoes are strictly prohibited in these rooms as they will damage the floors)
Etiquette for Theatre Entry and Exit
Please enter and exit the theatre from the top of the stairs. The lower doors are reserved to those requiring an accessible entry/exit. To minimize noise and disruption, enter and exit the theatre between dances only (that is, as dancers are entering or exiting the stage).
Morning dancing will begin at 9am starting with the Primary dancers. Afternoon dancing will not begin before 12:30pm for the Premier dancers. Links to the platforms schedules are available below.

Afternoon Platform Schedule
Beginner & Novice dancers
For those dancers competing in the Lilt and/or Flora, they should change into their national outfit as soon as they are done the Seann Triubhas (or the Sword, if not competing in the Seann Triubhas). Once changed, we kindly ask that dancers immediately return to the line-up room so that the morning dance events can continue without delay. Please refer to the morning platform schedule (see section above) for the order of dance events.
For those dancers competing in the Hornpipe, they should change into their Hornpipe outfit as soon as they are done the Highland Laddie. Once changed, we kindly ask that dancers immediately return to the line-up room so that the Hornpipe can begin on time. Please refer to the morning platform schedule (see section above) for the order of dance events.
Return of FVHDA Perpetual Trophies
A reminder to all those dancers who are in possession of an FVHDA perpetual trophy from the 2022-2023 season to contact the Awards team (email firstname.lastname@example.org) to make arrangements for their return.
We are happy to share that a concession service will be available at this competition. The Grad Committee of Langley Fine Arts School will be on-site offering a variety of snacks and beverages as a fundraiser for their 2024 Grade 12 grad celebrations.
The FVHDA is active on both Facebook and Instagram. You are welcome to tag us in your posts and/or use the hashtag #fvhda. A friendly etiquette reminder to not post photos or details of other competitors without their permission.
Code of Conduct
A friendly reminder that dancers are to be appropriately dressed while in common areas. In addition, all those in attendance at the competition are required to respect the RSOBHD Code of Ethics which can be found on page 8 of our Season Information sheet on our website.
